Treedom ed Euroacciai

EUROACCIAI: A SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT WITH TREEDOM WILL START IN 2024; ONE TREE WILL BE PLANTED FOR EVERY 30 TONNES PURCHASED BY EACH CUSTOMER.

The trees will be planted in specific locations around the world and, thanks to the Treedom.net platform, visible directly from the Euroacciai website, both the history of the agroforestry project and the resulting environmental and social benefits can be followed online.

Villa Carcina, 15 January 2024 - Euroacciai S.p.a. - a company from Villa Carcina (BS) specialised in the trading of flat stainless steel products in standard or customised sizes - has decided for the year 2024 to invest in an environmental and social sustainability project that will involve the planting of trees thanks to its collaboration with Treedom.

Under this new project, Euroacciai S.p.a. will commit to plant one tree for every 30 tonnes purchased by each customer. These trees will be planted in specific locations around the world and, thanks to the Treedom.net platform, visible directly from the Euroacciai website, both the history of the agroforestry project and the resulting environmental and social benefits can be followed online.

The aim of this initiative is to develop a business partnership with Euroacciai's customers, which considers attention to sustainability as an element of great importance and value. In fact, the more important the partnership with customers becomes, the more Euroacciai will be committed to increasing the number of trees planted through Treedom's agroforestry project.

Half-yearly, a certificate will then be issued to each customer showing both the number of trees planted thanks to the commercial partnership and the estimated amount of CO₂ that they will absorb from the atmosphere during their first ten years of life. After the first release, the forest containing all the planted trees will be visible directly from the Euroacciai website.

"Treedom is the first site that allows you to plant a tree remotely and follow the history of the project remotely," comments Alberta Marniga, president of Euroacciai S.p.a., "that’s why we decided to support them for this ambitious project. As also explained on the portal, since its foundation in 2010, it has implemented agroforestry projects for more than 4 million trees planted in Africa, South-East Asia and South America directly by local farmers, bringing environmental, social and financial benefits to their communities. Indeed, agroforestry projects aim to have a positive impact not only on the environment in which they operate, but also on the people who live there. This is why the areas in which Treedom intervenes are located in developing countries, where the benefits of tree plantations really make a difference. In particular, fruit tree plantations enrich the diet of the inhabitants and offer them an income opportunity through sales in local markets. We are therefore facing an important initiative based on a shared commitment with our stakeholders and customers, thanks to whom all this would not be possible."

In detail, all planted trees remain the property of local farmers.

With agroforestry projects, Treedom is pursuing 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations for 2030 and Euroacciai S.p.a. has decided to support this important project by integrating its business with an eye on sustainability.
